W. H. Geldmacher Obituary


Treasurer-Elect of Pomona Grange Buried Saturday

Would Have Been Installed Today

Woodsfield, O., Jan. 20 – Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for W. H. Geldmacher, Lewisville, Rt. 4, who passed away at his home at 1:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Mr. Geldmacher had been in failing for some time and about three weeks ago suffered a stroke and had been seriously ill since that time. He was 63 years of age at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife and several children together with two sisters, Mrs. J. F. Egger, Lewisville, and Mrs. George Baker, Lewisville Rt. 4. He was a prominent resident of this county and was highly respected by everyone. He had made for himself a legion of friends who are saddened by his death.

Mr. Geldmacher was a member of Barnhart grange and was to have been installed as treasurer of Monroe Pomona grange on Saturday. He had been a grange member for many years and was always a faithful grange worker.

The funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 o’clock followed by final rites at the Middle church of which he was a member, at 2 o’clock in charge of his pastor, Rev. Robert Johnson. Members of Barnhart grange conducted their ritualistic services at the grave. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
